Position Overview

As the Vice President of Accounting, you will work closely with the company President and CFO to help create and sustain an efficient workplace within the Finance and Accounting departments for competent, highly motivated, and results-oriented employees. Our client is seeking an individual who can streamline and enhance their accounting practices, while also providing leadership to the team to instill the company core values and ensure the team’s work ethic aligns with the organization’s high performance and mission-driven culture.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Oversee all accounting operations to ensure alignment with strategic goals while inspiring and leading the accounting department. Encourage a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
  • Team Development: Develop a high-performing team through effective recruitment strategies, coaching, and performance evaluation. Implement training programs to enhance accounting skills and promote industry best practices.
  • Technology Implementation: Lead the evaluation and implementation of innovative accounting technologies and systems to streamline processes, boost efficiency, and guarantee accurate financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Direct the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and regulatory submissions. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and accepted policies in all accounting activities and internal audits.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with executive leadership to shape financial strategy, establish performance metrics, and guide critical business decisions.
  • Risk Management: Implement robust risk management strategies and internal controls to protect company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insightful financial analyses to facilitate informed operational decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, liaising with property owners, investors, and executive management about the company’s financial performance and strategic direction

Position Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial and accounting management role, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Leadership Skills: At least 5 years in a management and leadership position, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Professionalism and Analytical Skills: Display a consistent high level of professionalism, alongside strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from a reputable institution.
  • Certification: While not obligatory, possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is preferred.
