Essential Job Functions
As a Commercial Loan Processor for our client, you will be responsible for overseeing the processing of high-detail commercial loan files. This includes managing each loan file from handoff to closing, coordinating documentation with brokers and borrowers, ordering third-party services such as appraisals, and ensuring that all required items are collected and reviewed before final underwriting and funding. You will be instrumental in keeping the process moving, anticipating bottlenecks, and proactively resolving issues to ensure on-time closings.
This is a remote role, but a dedicated and professional home office workspace is required. The expectation is full commitment during working hours and strong responsiveness when active files are in progress.
Position Responsibilities
- Receive new commercial loan files from the internal team and initiate borrower/broker introductions and communication.
- Order appraisals and coordinate timelines between the appraisal company and the borrower.
- Review loan documentation packages for completeness and identify missing items.
- Communicate regularly with brokers, borrowers, and attorneys to obtain and organize required documentation.
- Maintain structured digital folders and document tracking systems to ensure all materials are properly filed and accessible.
- Track timelines and proactively follow up with third parties to avoid delays and ensure closings occur as scheduled.
- Coordinate with legal counsel to finalize closing documentation and resolve any pre-closing issues.
- Ensure all documentation is in place for final review and approval by company decision-makers before funds are disbursed.
- Support additional administrative functions such as portfolio reviews and communication regarding upcoming loan maturities during slower periods.
Position Qualifications
- At least 4–5 years of recent experience in loan processing, ideally within commercial lending; strong residential loan processing experience may also be applicable.
- Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage documentation across multiple stakeholders.
- Proactive and assertive communication style with the ability to follow up and drive action from third parties.
- Comfortable with remote work and able to maintain a structured, distraction-free home office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and deadlines in a high-responsibility role.
- Self-motivated and dependable, with a strong sense of accountability and pride in high-quality execution.
