Essential Job Functions

As the Senior Project Manager for our client, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of multiple active and future projects—ranging from short-term initiatives to large-scale manufacturing or industrial builds. You will take ownership of the full lifecycle of each project, including timelines, procurement, client communication, vendor negotiation, and field team coordination.

This is a newly created role designed to relieve current leadership from day-to-day project involvement and allow for the growth and scalability of the department. You will serve as the key communication hub for clients and vendors—ensuring materials are ordered in advance, project timelines are realistic and met, and changes are managed clearly.

You will also mentor more junior project managers and implement a two-week look-ahead reporting structure to keep leadership informed and projects on track.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of project execution—from planning to completion—across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Oversee and implement a two-week look-ahead reporting structure that provides visibility into all active jobs, milestones, and potential roadblocks.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for customers and vendors to ensure timely procurement, project clarity, and alignment of expectations.
  • Mentor and support junior project staff, sharing your expertise to help them grow and ensure consistency in execution.
  • Coordinate closely with scheduling, maintenance, and field crews (foremen, journeymen) to drive efficiency and quality in the field.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues in scope, timelines, or resources proactively, maintaining control over deadlines and profitability.
  • Support and uphold SOPs while continuously improving systems and processes to scale the project management function.
  • Communicate project updates to executive leadership, highlighting risks, wins, and recommendations for improved delivery.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on project leadership style, motivated to coach others and lead by example.
  • Strong track record of managing complex manufacturing, industrial, or construction-related projects.
  • Experience with vendor and customer communications related to procurement, scheduling, and project updates.
  • Highly organized and proactive; can drive multiple initiatives without requiring daily oversight.
  • Minimum of Seven or more years of relevant project management experience in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • PMP or similar project management certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing, mechanical, construction, or chemical industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
